What is Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead Assisted Living?

Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead Assisted Living is a boutique residential assisted living facility located at 309 Copperleaf Road in Lakeway, Texas. We are the only small residential assisted living facility in Lakeway, TX — purpose-built to offer a deeply personal, family-centered alternative to large institutional facilities. With only 7 private bedrooms, we maintain an intimate 3:1 resident-to-staff ratio that ensures every resident receives truly individualized attention, dignity, and care.

What makes Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead Assisted Living different from other assisted living facilities in the Austin area?

Several things set us apart in a meaningful way. First, our size — with only 7 private bedrooms, your loved one will never be just a room number. Second, our team — our co-founders include a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Personal Trainer with over 20 years of experience, and a Michelin 3-star trained chef and Certified Nursing Assistant who personally prepares every meal. Third, our philosophy — everything we do is guided by one commitment: to treat every resident the way we would want our own parents treated. And fourth, our pricing — one flat, all-inclusive monthly rate that never increases due to your loved one's care needs, ever. The only adjustment is a modest, predictable annual increase of 3–5% to keep pace with inflation — so your family can plan ahead with complete confidence and no surprises.

What level of care do you provide?

We provide comprehensive, personalized assisted living care tailored to each resident's individual needs. Our care begins with hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) — including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and eating — delivered with dignity, patience, and genuine compassion. Beyond ADL support, our elite-level care includes: 24/7 high-level, low-ratio staffing; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); supported daily care; Certified Medication Aide (CMA); managed medication care; on-site healthcare provider visits; LCSW-guided social and emotional wellness; certified personal trainer-led daily fitness and movement; daily massage therapy; Elevated 4-course chef-crafted dining; in-house dog companion for emotional comfort. At Copperleaf, ADL assistance is never rushed or impersonal — it is delivered one-on-one by our dedicated care team within our 3:1 resident-to-staff ratio, ensuring your loved one always feels respected, unhurried, and truly cared for.

What is your staff-to-resident ratio?

Our 3:1 resident-to-staff ratio is one of our most important commitments. In most assisted living facilities, one staff member may be responsible for 10, 15, or even 20 residents. At Copperleaf, personalized attention is not a luxury — it is our standard.

Do you have a therapy dog?

Yes! Mini McInnis is our resident Chiweenie and Chief Cheer Officer. This 6-year-old rescue has a remarkable intuition for sensing when someone needs extra comfort — and she never turns down a friendly hand. She is a genuine source of daily joy, warmth, and companionship for our residents.

Who leads the care and wellness programs?

Our co-founder Dennard McInnis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Personal Trainer with over 20 years of experience. He earned his Master's in Social Work from UT Austin and is also the founder of McInnis Mental Health Solutions. Dennard personally leads emotional wellness check-ins, therapeutic circles, creative workshops, group discussions, and physical movement sessions including tai chi, chair yoga, and light strength training.

How do you support residents' emotional and mental wellbeing?

Emotional wellness is at the heart of everything we do. We recognize that many seniors silently struggle with feelings of loneliness, hopelessness, and boredom. Our LCSW, Dennard McInnis, personally checks in with every resident and facilitates therapeutic activities including creative workshops, cognitive games, small group discussions, and meaningful one-on-one conversations. Our goal is not just to care for our residents — but to ensure they truly feel cherished, seen, and connected.

How do you handle medical emergencies?

The safety of our residents is our highest priority. We maintain 24/7 staffing, have clear emergency protocols in place, and coordinate closely with local medical providers to ensure rapid, compassionate response. Families are notified promptly in any situation involving their loved one's health or safety.

What happens if my loved one's care needs change over time?

We conduct regular individual care assessments and maintain open, honest communication with families throughout. And importantly — our pricing never increases due to increased care needs. Your loved one can age in place at Copperleaf, receiving whatever level of care they need as they grow older, without financial penalty or disruption.

We also warmly welcome family recipes — because food should feel personal.

Yes — and we are especially proud of this. Our dining space was thoughtfully designed with every resident in mind. Do you have intergenerational programs?

Yes — and this is something we are deeply passionate about. Through our Bridging Generations Initiative, in partnership with Westlake Chinese Academy, we connect local middle and high school students with our residents for meaningful, joyful interactions. Students share their talents in music, art, cooking, crafting, storytelling and more. We believe young people bring joy, hope and light to our residents — and our residents give young people something no classroom can teach: the wisdom and perspective of a life fully lived.

Living Spaces & Environment

What does the facility look like?

Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead Assisted Living was designed from the ground up with one guiding question at every step: "Will this bring joy to our residents?" Every detail — from the layout and finishes to the accessible design features — was made through the lens of a senior resident's experience. The facility is fully ADA compliant, built to the highest standards, and feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely like home. We invite you to come see it for yourself.

Can residents personalize their living space?

Absolutely. We encourage residents to bring personal belongings, cherished photos, and familiar items that make their space feel like their own. Comfort and a sense of home are essential to emotional wellbeing, and we welcome personal touches wholeheartedly.

Is there a pet in the facility?

Yes — Mini McInnis, our resident Chiweenie therapy dog, lives at Copperleaf and brings daily joy, comfort, and companionship to everyone she meets.

Can family members visit anytime?

Costs & Financial Questions

How much does assisted living at Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead cost?

Our pricing is simple, transparent, and all-inclusive. We offer one flat monthly rate that covers everything — no tiers, no add-ons, no surprise fees. Ever. Please contact us at (512) 710-9898 for your personalized quote and we will walk you through everything clearly and honestly.

Is there a pet in the facility?

Yes — Mini McInnis, our resident Chiweenie therapy dog, lives at Copperleaf and brings daily joy, comfort, and companionship to everyone she meets.

Do your rates increase if my loved one needs more care over time?

No — and this is one of the most important things that sets us apart. At most assisted living facilities, monthly costs increase as a resident's care needs grow — meaning families face rising bills at the exact moment they are already under the most emotional and financial stress. At Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead Assisted Living, your rate never increases due to increased care needs. We believe in the philosophy of Aging in Place — your loved one can remain in our home and receive whatever level of care they need as they age, without any financial penalty. One home. One price regardless of care level. Always.

What exactly is included in the monthly fee?

Everything. Our all-inclusive monthly rate covers: hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) — including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and eating; private accommodation; three daily chef-crafted meals plus snacks — including four-course lunch and dinner; personalized CNA-supported daily care; CMA-managed medication care; 24/7 high-level staffing at our 3:1 resident-to-staff ratio; on-site healthcare provider visits; LCSW-guided daily social and emotional wellness; certified personal trainer-led daily fitness and movement; daily massage therapy; all social and cognitive activities; housekeeping; medication management; companionship from Mini, our resident therapy dog. No hidden fees. No care-level surcharges. No surprises. Just one price for everything — so your family can focus entirely on what matters most.

Why does Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead Assisted Living use a one-price model?

Because we believe financial stress has no place in the senior care experience — and because this is deeply personal for us. Our own mother had to move from one facility to another as her care needs changed. She moved four times. Each move was emotionally draining and heartbreaking for our entire family. No family should have to go through that. That experience is the reason Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead Assisted Living exists. Your loved one will never be asked to leave because their care needs have grown. Your bill will never increase because their health has changed. One home. One team. One price. For the full journey — without disruption, without fear, and without financial surprises.

What is Aging in Place and why does it matter?

Aging in Place means your loved one can remain in a familiar, loving home environment as their care needs evolve — rather than being uprooted to a higher-care facility when their health changes. Research consistently shows that stability, familiar surroundings, and consistent relationships have profound positive effects on seniors' emotional and physical wellbeing. At Copperleaf, we are committed to being that stable, loving home for the full journey — not just the easy chapters.

Are there any circumstances where pricing would change?

We believe in complete transparency — so here is our honest answer. Our rate does not increase based on your loved one's care level, ever. However, like most businesses, we do apply a modest annual rate adjustment of 3–5% to keep pace with inflation. This adjustment is applied consistently and predictably, so families can plan ahead with confidence. What you will never experience at Copperleaf is a sudden, unexpected bill increase because your loved one needs more help with bathing, mobility, or medication. Those care-driven increases are what devastate family budgets — and we have eliminated them entirely. We are always happy to have a clear, straightforward conversation about pricing with no ambiguity. Please call us at (512) 710-9898 or email us at Info@lakewayseniorhome.com and we will walk you through everything honestly.

How will you keep me informed about my loved one?

Open, honest, and proactive family communication is something we take seriously. You will always know how your loved one is doing — not just medically, but emotionally and socially. We share the joyful moments too, because families deserve to feel connected to their loved one's daily life even when they can't be there in person.
